The 59th FILMFARE Awards Nominations

Image

Last year when I saw the nominations of the 58th filmfare awards I was pretty much happy to see their bravery. I’m not saying that the nominations were absolutely fare but at least they made that list without films of Khans. Films like Ek tha tiger, Jab tak Hai jaan and even Talaash were out of the nomination of best film. That’s way I thought this year the nomination will be a bit more fare. Sadly This years nominations are ridiculous then ever. Specially the best film category.

I know the fact that award functions are a television program. So it must give away awards to films which have done great business in the box office as in general people judges a film by its box office numbers. Business has become more important than quality.

Honestly I never thought a film like The Lunchbox or Ship of Thesus will be in the nomination but at least they could have avoided putting films like Chennai Express and Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani in the list.

This is just my opinion. And if the jury thinks Chennai Express deserve to be in the run for best film and Shah Rukh Khan deserves to be the best actor I’m completely Ok with it. But what I’m really disappointed is that we are discouraging good works and brave actings…… 😦
